Welmede gave us the guidance and support we needed

“My son Alex is supported by Welmede to live independently in a house that he shares with three other people.

While my son was still at college in Devon, Welmede started to work with the whole family to find out how Alex would like to live his life. Welmede visited Alex’s college to meet with staff and support workers to include them in his plans for the future.

Alex was introduced to another young man and his family and as they got on, planning started to explore housing options. Two others joined them along with TJ the cat who is now a very important member of the house.

Welmede gave us the guidance and support we needed to establish Alex in his new, happy and independent life. Alex now lives locally and can still join in with our family activities but still has his own privacy and independence.

What a relief it is for us to know that his future does not depend on us alone and Welmede are there to help. I am pleased to recommend Welmede."
