We would like to introduce ourselves
"I have very much enjoyed my association with Welmede over the past twenty years. We face a rapidly changing environment for people with learning disabilities. Those changes are gaining pace with ever more opportunities for individual tailoring of services to meet the needs of our clients and it is exciting to be involved with Welmede at the forefront of this activity."
John Langan
"As a parent of a son with a learning disability the care and support he and others receive is of paramount importance to me. Welmede tailors its services to suit the needs of the individual. It creates a happy, friendly environment that supports people to achieve their full potential."
Janet Coltman
"Over the years I have been pleased to see at first hand how well Welmede has provided good quality accommodation, a wide range of activities and holiday opportunities, and friendships for adults in Surrey, and I have appreciated the dedication of Welmede’s staff. Welmede is truly a 'good place to be'."
Graham Worsfold
"Welmede is both well-managed and innovative with dedicated and caring staff. Its mission is to provide people with learning disabilities the best quality of care and accommodation, suited to their individual needs, and a wide range of holiday and leisure activities. It has recently been through a period of far-reaching change and has successfully met the challenges produced by this. In my view, Welmede's board and senior managers form a strong and united team and I find the work of a board member both interesting and rewarding."

"My name is Nick, I am 21 years old and I live at Elm House in Claygate, with six other people. I moved there from my family home, also in Claygate. When I first moved in I struggled to be independent but with the support of staff and service users I have gained confidence and and I can now accomplish things independently. In the last year I have learned to cook, clean, budget and have even started a voluntary job. I feel I have come a long way since coming to Elm House and my goal is is to become even more independent in the future."
Nick Butcher
"I think that the emphasis on allowing all users of Welmede services to have a choice in how they live and what they do is the best thing we can do. It enables our users to develop their abilities and enjoy their lives more. I value the opportunity to share in this."
Maureen Young
"My name is Graham and I was born in Chertsey, Surrey. My interests are football, paintball, playing Xbox 360 games etc. I moved into Elm House in Claygate in 2008, and that's how I was introduced to Welmede, who have helped me to get to where I am today - living in my own flat in Caterham now and I have a job as a gardener."
Graham Gowans
"It is a pleasure to work with a Board that are so totally focussed on better lives for people. Each member brings their own skills and experience but together they dovetail to make a very effective force for change. Person centred planning is key to making change happen in people’s lives which is why the Board have invested significantly in this area and why I personally became a trainer in person centred planning."
