My Trip to Lapland – 12th December 2009
“A taxi came at 4:30 a.m. and took me and Clare (my support worker) to North Terminal at Gatwick. I was looking forward to going to Lapland.
I enjoy flying and it was a good flight over – it took four hours. The air crew were in the Christmas spirit, singing Christmas carols, which I enjoyed.
When we arrived we had to put on big body suits to keep ourselves warm. We also had to wear boots. I enjoyed this bit and walking in the snow. We all got on a coach, which took one hour to get us to Lapland. When I got off the bus it was like a dreamland, but cold.
We went to Santa’s workshop, which was very interesting. Then we walked around. We went on a reindeer ride, which was good fun. We also went on a sleigh pulled by huskies, which I loved.
We went to see Santa. I looked around the gift shop and bought a cup so that I could remember my trip to Lapland. It was then time to go back to the airport. I enjoyed my Christmas dinner on the plane on the way back home. I fell asleep on the plane.
I had so much fun at Lapland. My favourite bit of the day was the husky rides and seeing Santa. We arrived home around 10:30 p.m. I would love to go again one day.”
