Amis Avenue is a large detached bungalow that caters for six adults with a learning disability. Most of the current resident group have Downs Syndrome, some with early onset dementia, and referrals are particularly invited in respect of individuals with this rapidly emerging area of support need. There is currently one vacancy at Amis Avenue. The home has recently been refurbished, redecorated and adapted and is well equipped for users with changing mobility and sensory needs. It has level access for wheelchair use and is situated at the end of a cul-de-sac with no traffic hazards within the immediate vicinity of the home, despite it being close to shops and other community facilities in New Haw.
Moor House, Horsell Moor, Woking, Surrey
Moor House caters for people with learning disabilities who are over 65 years of age and who may also have a physical disability or mobility problems.
The house has room for nine residents and accommodates both men and women. Two of the bedrooms are on the ground floor and the others are on the first floor. The vacancy is on the first floor, and the home has a lift to help those who have problems with using the stairs.
Moor House is very close to Woking Town Centre with its variety of shops, restaurants, hair salons, dental surgery, chemist and post office. 7 Palmer Crescent, Ottershaw, Surrey
On the edge of a small residential housing estate in Ottershaw, 7 Palmer Crescent is a purpose built bungalow housing 6 residents with a range of learning disabilities associated mental health needs and physical sensory disabilities. It is situated next to three other bungalows, which also house people with learning disabilities. The ages of the current residents range between 66 and 75 years. The village centre is a few minutes walk away where there are a variety of shops, including restaurants, a hair salon, a dental surgery, a chemist and a post office. York Lodge, Horley, Surrey
York Lodge is an eight-bedded detached house close to Horley Town Centre. The home is for adults with a mild to moderate learning disability, who may also have some associated support needs such as enduring mental ill health. All tenants are encouraged to participate actively in the day to day running of the home. There is a focus on being person centred and individuality such as everyone doing their own shopping and preparing their own meals. New referrals should be made with regard to the fact that the home will be converting to a supported living service.
